The Problem

Families have not had easy access to regular updates on their loved ones care and wellness. Covid 19 has magnified the challenge while operators and caregivers are under unprecedented circumstances and unique challenges to keep pace while trying to satisfy families inquiries. Until now, there has been no mechanism to give families, operators and care workers the ability to communicate in real time right inside the clients’ home or long-term care facility.

The Solution

Tap-In Technologies Inc. has taken the first technological leap in solving the concern faced across in-home and LTC facilities, using readily available Near Field Communications along with its state-of-the-art platform and analytics capabilities. The launch of Tap-In-Care (TIC) brings an easy-to-use solution that will deliver comfort to families through regular and real-time communication with caregivers.

(( The Technology ))

Using a small NFC pod that is installed in the client’s residence, caregivers can tap in using their registered smartphones when they enter the home or the room. Once tapped, the family will see, in real time, that the care-worker has arrived. The caregiver can write notes or comments back to the family when the visit is finished. The caregiver then taps out when leaving the home which will signal to the family that the appointment has concluded. All data is recorded and stored in TIC’s secured cloud servers, allowing families to review tasks completed and communicate back to the caregivers. Future considerations can allow government bodies to access metadata, scrubbed of any personal or confidential information, to allow for improving private and government-run care.
